Loocey File Upload for DLA ** New Feature ** (part 2)
Step by step
The walkthrough covered in the video, written out so you can follow along inside Loocey.
- How To Upload and Manage Files in Loocey
- There are 2 types of File columns in Loocey, Single File and Multiple File types.
- These are column types that we can add to any of our lists.
- We use cloud storage and security to safely store all of your files and make the process seamless to our users.
- Single File Column
- We’ll start with the Single File column and see how uploading and managing a file works.
- First, click the plus sign at the end of the table.
- From the menu, select More Options.
- For the column type, choose Single File.
- Enter a display name for the column, and click Add to create it.
- To upload a file, click on the plus icon and select a file from your computer, and the file is uploaded directly into the table.
- Once the upload is complete, click on the file name to open the file viewer.
- We’ve built our own file viewer to make it easy to view the file directly in the popup without opening the files in different tabs.
- We support most common file types such as pdfs, images, documents and others. If a file type is not supported in the viewer, it’ll show that it’s unable to display the file and prompt you to download it or open in another tab.
- At the top of the viewer, you can see the file name and file size in megabytes.
- If the file is an image, Loocey also displays the image dimensions, so you immediately know what you’re working with.
- Let’s close the file viewer.
- Now, when you mouse over the file, you’ll also see the 3 dot context menu, if you open the menu, you’ll have several other options.
- You can upload a new file to replace it, delete the file, open file settings and others.
- Now let’s take a look at the Multi File column.
- A Multi File column allows you to upload multiple files into a single cell, which is perfect when you need to keep several documents related to the same record in one place.
- To start, let’s add a Multi File column
- Click the plus sign at the end of the table, select More Options, choose Multi File as the column type, enter a display name, and click Add.
- Upload works the same way, simply click on plus icon for uploading the first file and select file to upload.
- To upload more files, open the context menu, either drag/drop to the designated spot or click on Upload and select more files to upload.
- Newly uploaded files will be placed in the beginning of the cell.
- Note that the context menu will show all files in the cell and each file will also have its own context menu just like a single file column.
- Now when you click to open the file viewer, you’ll see the list of files on the left menu to be able to quickly switch between them.
