Overview

In this video, we'll learn How To Find Open RFQs by Prior Awards or even Competitor Prior Awards using Loocey’s advanced related data search features.

This is specifically useful for quickly checking to see if there are any open RFQs that match with any of your prior awards. This way, we can quickly place our bids as we may already have relationship with the suppliers those parts.

Furthermore, we can also use this method to check on open RFQs that our direct competitors may have based on their prior awards. This is a great way to expand our product offerings and find open RFQs for relevant parts that we may not see otherwise.

Step by step

The walkthrough covered in the video, written out so you can follow along inside Loocey.

  1. This is specifically useful for quickly checking to see if there are any open RFQs that match with any of your prior awards. This way, we can quickly place our bids as we may already have relationship with the suppliers those parts.
  2. Furthermore, we can also use this method to check on open RFQs that our direct competitors may have based on their prior awards. This is a great way to expand our product offerings and find open RFQs for relevant parts that we may not see otherwise.
  3. This process is very easy with Loocey’s new advanced search filters.
  4. Go to RFQs, this where we see all of our open RFQs.
  5. Then, let’s open the Filters dialog and go to Related Data Filters tab
  6. Click on Add Filter and from related data list drop down, select DLA Award History
  7. NSN > NSN Parts > DLA Award History
  8. we need to choose relationship that best matches with our query, in this case, we need to join related award history data with the RFQs list.
  9. Then for the column, select “cage”, this is the cage code of the awardee.
  10. Select equals for the condition
  11. And enter your cage code, for this example we’ll use
  12. Note that this can be your cage code or your competitor’s cage code.
  13. System will filter and show any open RFQs based on the prior award matches with the cage code we entered.
  14. Now, to confirm we are seeing relevant RFQs, open the NSN dialog and go to the History tab.
  15. You should see at least one prior history award matching with the cage code we entered for searching.
  16. Now, Let’s save our view.
  17. Click on save then choose save as new. Let’s name it My Awards History and hit save.
  18. Going forward, the new View will be showing at the top and you can check on this tab on regular basis to see any new RFQs that match with the cage code.
  19. And you can always go back to the filter and change the cage code used, or even use our “In” condition and enter a list of cage codes to match.
  20. Always save the view to save the changes or use our Save As New feature to duplicate the view.
