How to Search by Manufacturer Zip Code for Open RFQs in Loocey

Overview

In this video, we’ll learn how to find open RFQs by Manufacturer ZIP Code using Loocey’s Advanced Related Data Filters. We’ll show how to search RFQs based on manufacturer ZIP codes, verify matching approved sources, view manufacturer details, and save the search as a reusable view for quick access.

Step by step

The walkthrough covered in the video, written out so you can follow along inside Loocey.

1. This is particularly useful when you want to find and work with either local manufacturers or manufacturers in a specific city or zip code.
2. In this example we show how to find Open RFQs by manufacturer’s zip, but of course you can use this method to find manufacturers by city, state or even phone area code.
3. The key is that the system will only show you manufacturers that currently have open RFQs.
4. This process is very easy with Loocey’s new advanced search filters.
5. Go to RFQs, this where we see all of our open RFQs.
6. Then, let’s open the Filters dialog and go to the Related Data Filters tab.
7. Click on Add Filter and from the related data list drop down, select DLA Approved Sources relationship.
8. NSN > NSN Parts > DLA Approved Parts > Cage Code > DLA Approved Sources
9. We need to choose a relationship that best matches with our query, in this case, we need to join related approved source data with the RFQs list.
10. Then for the column, select “Zip”, this is the Zip code of the listed approved source which is usually the manufacturer.
11. For condition, we can leave equal if we know the exact zip code, or
12. We can also use the “In” Condition and give a list of zip codes if we prefer that.
13. We can also select Starts With and give the starting digits for the zip code, for example “33”.
14. Now, to confirm we are seeing relevant RFQs, open the NSN dialog and go to the Approved Parts tab.
15. Now we can scroll to the right and confirm that at least one of the zip codes starts with 33.
16. Note that, Not all the listed approved sources will have the matching zip code, as long as one of the approved sources has the matching zip code, the system will include the RFQ in the search result.
17. In this example, we confirmed that matches with our zip code query, which is starting with 33.
18. Then we can also click on the cage code to see the full address and other details of that company.
19. Now, let's save our view.
20. Click on save then choose save as new. Let’s name it Approved Sources By Zip and hit save.
21. And you can always go back to the filter and change the cage code used.
