monday.com Alternative for Data: Loocey DB
monday.com is built for managing work on boards. If what you really need is a relational database for your business data, here is how Loocey DB compares.
- Last Updated October 8, 2026
- Category No-Code Database Software
- Approach Facts with sources, no made-up claims
monday.com is work management software built around boards. Items are the rows, subitems hang under them, and the Connect Boards and Mirror columns show data from other boards.
It is strong at project tracking, with Timeline, Gantt, Calendar and dashboards on Standard and above.
Teams look for a monday.com alternative when they are really building a database: clients, products, orders and assets that relate to each other in many ways. Boards can do some of that, but they are not relational tables.
This page compares the two approaches.
Key Differences at a Glance
- monday.com at 10 Users
- $120/month (Standard, 10-seat bucket)
- Loocey DB at 10 Users

Why Teams Look Elsewhere
- Boards, not relational tables
- Seat buckets
- Formulas and automations depend on the plan
- Per-board item limits
What Loocey DB Offers

- Relationships with real foreign keys
- Any number of users
- Kanban and Calendar on the same data
- An MCP server for AI assistants
- Bring your data with you
Why Teams Look for a monday.com Alternative
Boards, not relational tables
Data is organized as boards of items. Cross-board links use Connect Boards and Mirror columns rather than database relationships.
Seat buckets
Seats are sold in buckets (3, 5, 10, 15, 20 and more), so you cannot buy an arbitrary number of seats.
Formulas and automations depend on the plan
The Formula column is on Pro and Enterprise. Standard includes 250 automation actions per month; Basic and Free include none.
Per-board item limits
monday.com documents a limit of 10,000 items per board on all plans except Enterprise, which allows 100,000.
Where monday.com Is Strong
To be fair: monday.com is a mature, public company product with Gantt, Timeline, Map and Chart views, dashboards, automations, AI agents, an official MCP server and a GraphQL API.
For project and work management, it does things Loocey DB does not.

The Alternative
How Loocey DB Replaces monday.com
A dedicated PostgreSQL database
Every Loocey account gets its own dedicated PostgreSQL database instance. Tables are real PostgreSQL tables with typed columns, indexes and unique, regex and min/max constraints.
Relationships with real foreign keys
Relationship columns create foreign keys with On Delete rules (Cascade, Restrict, Set Null or No Action), work across Apps, and support Existing Relationship (join) columns and dependent dropdowns.
Any number of users
Every plan includes users and you can add more for $19/user/month, one at a time, with no limit on the number of users.
Kanban and Calendar on the same data
Switch between Table, Kanban/Pipeline and Calendar views of one table, and save each combination of filters, sorts and columns as a view tab.
An MCP server for AI assistants
A compatible AI assistant can create tables and columns, add and update records, search your data, build saved views and filters, and import spreadsheets, acting as a real Loocey user with that user’s role.
Bring your data with you
Export to CSV from your current tool, then import CSV, XLSX, XLS or TXT files up to 50 MB into Loocey DB, map each column, and choose whether duplicates are skipped or updated.
Not Built Yet, and Labeled That Way
- Coming Soon Workflows & Automations
- Coming Soon Granular Access Controls (App-, table-, field- and record-level permissions)
See every feature on the Loocey DB page and every plan on the Loocey DB pricing page.
