Coda (Superhuman Docs) Alternative: Loocey DB
Coda is now Superhuman Docs. If you used Coda mostly for its tables, here is how a dedicated relational database compares.

Coda is a document editor that combines docs, spreadsheets and apps. Grammarly acquired Coda in December 2024 and rebranded as Superhuman in October 2025, and Coda is now sold as Superhuman Docs.
Its pricing page now redirects to Superhuman.
Teams look for a Coda alternative when their tables, not their documents, are the main job, or when they want to reassess after the rebrand. Loocey DB is a relational database, not a doc editor, so this page focuses on the data side.

Why Teams Look for a Coda Alternative
A product in transition
Coda is now Superhuman Docs, and the Coda MCP has been renamed Superhuman Docs MCP; Superhuman says Coda MCP will eventually be deprecated.
Tables live inside docs
Data is stored in tables inside documents, connected by relation columns. Databases are listed as a beta feature on the Business plan.
Free plan limits on shared docs
Shared docs on Free are limited to 50 objects and 1,000 table rows; after a 14-day grace period the doc becomes read-only.
Field-level permissions not listed
Pro can hide pages and Business adds doc and page locking, but field- and row-level permissions are not listed on the pricing page.
Where Coda Is Strong
To be fair: Coda’s pricing is friendly for teams with few builders, because you pay only per Doc Maker and Editors and Viewers are free.
It has Cards, Calendar, Timeline, Chart, Form and Board views, automations, Docs AI and an MCP server.
If your team lives in documents, it is a strong tool.

The Alternative
How Loocey DB Replaces Coda
A dedicated PostgreSQL database
Every Loocey account gets its own dedicated PostgreSQL database instance. Tables are real PostgreSQL tables with typed columns, indexes and unique, regex and min/max constraints.
Relationships with real foreign keys
Relationship columns create foreign keys with On Delete rules (Cascade, Restrict, Set Null or No Action), work across Apps, and support Existing Relationship (join) columns and dependent dropdowns.
Data first, not docs first
Build Database Apps with tables, folders and saved views, and open any record in a side panel, a popup or its own detail page with notes and change history.
Users included in every plan
Standard includes 5 users for $29/month, Pro includes 10 users for $49/month and Enterprise includes 20 users for $198/month, billed annually. Additional users are $19/user/month.
An MCP server for AI assistants
A compatible AI assistant can create tables and columns, add and update records, search your data, build saved views and filters, and import spreadsheets, acting as a real Loocey user with that user’s role.
Bring your data with you
Export to CSV from your current tool, then import CSV, XLSX, XLS or TXT files up to 50 MB into Loocey DB, map each column, and choose whether duplicates are skipped or updated.
Not Built Yet, and Labeled That Way
- Coming Soon Workflows & Automations
- Coming Soon Granular Access Controls (App-, table-, field- and record-level permissions)
See every feature on the Loocey DB page and every plan on the Loocey DB pricing page.
