How to Filter RFQs by Inspection Location (Origin vs Destination) in Loocey

Overview

In this tutorial, you’ll see how Inspection Points work, why they matter, and how to quickly filter RFQs based on where the DLA performs the inspection — either at the supplier’s facility (Origin) or at the delivery location (Destination). We’ll walk through using the Inspection Point column, reading helpful tooltips, applying filters, and saving your search as a Saved View for future use.

Step by step

1. Inspection points are important to consider as if you don’t have a proper facility or it does not meet the requirements, you will fail the inspections. This is why you might want to focus on RFQs with inspection points set for Destination instead of Origin, which is your facility.
2. Fortunately, it’s very easy in Loocey to not only view the inspection point on each RFQ, but also filter the list to show only the type you’re looking for.
3. To start, go to the DLA RFQs page, where you’ll see the list of open RFQs.
4. We already have a column called Inspection Point, which shows whether inspection is done at Origin (O) or Destination (D).
5. If you’re new to DLA, sometimes these terms can be misleading, which is why we even have a tooltip explaining each type.
6. Let’s hover over an Origin type —you’ll see that it says:
7. “The DLA inspects the goods at the supplier’s (contract holder’s) location before shipment.”
8. And if we hover over a Destination option — the tooltip reads:
9. “The DLA inspects the goods at the delivery location.”
10. These tooltips are a great reminder, especially for new users, since the terms can sometimes be confusing.
11. Now, let’s filter the RFQs by Inspection Point.
12. To do that, open the Filters menu, click Add Filter, select Inspection Point as the column, and choose the desired value — let’s select Origin for this example.
13. Then hit Apply — this way, the system will show us all RFQs where inspection is performed at the supplier’s location, before the goods are shipped.
14. Of course, you can switch the filter to Destination if you want to see RFQs where the inspection happens at the receiving site.
15. To save this search for future use, click on Save as, name it Inspection Point – Destination, and click Save.
16. This will save our search filters and create a new tab at the top. The saved searches, also called Saved Views are a great way to save your filters so when you come back tomorrow or in the future, all of your saved views will be easily accessible with all of your filters already saved.
