Overview
In this video, we’ll learn how to find high-demand DLA parts using Loocey’s statistics and filtering columns. We’ll show how Loocey analyzes historical purchasing data in the background, making it easy to identify products DLA buys more often and focus on the right opportunities.
Step by step
The walkthrough covered in the video, written out so you can follow along inside Loocey.
- There are millions of part numbers or products that DLA buys and it’s hard to find your niche as a supplier or a manufacturer.
- Many suppliers and manufacturers choose to focus on supplying products to DLA that are purchased more often instead of a single order in years.
- But how do you find the products that DLA buys more often?
- Well, Loocey makes it super-simple to do this search query.
- Loocey does all the hard data science work in the background and provides stats columns that you can use to search and filter by.
- Loocey RFQs List has 3 columns related to these stats:
- YTD Quantity Awarded
- Last Year Quantity Awarded
- Total Quantity Awarded
- Notice if you mouse over on the data for these columns, system will show you a tooltip with a longer description.
- And because these are standard columns in our table, we can not only quickly glance over the list and find the items based on the numbers in these columns, but we can also use our search filters to filter down the list and only show us the RFQs that match our needs.
- so let’s try it, let’s say we want to find RFQs that DLA bought at least 500 items in total, and last year 200 or more were awarded, but this year they’ve only awarded less than 100, hence we can assume that they might still order more for this year.
- Let’s create a filter matching this specific use case,
- We’ll add a filter, select Total Quantity Awarded and use greater than 499, add another filter select Last Year Quantity Awarded greater than 199 and add another filter, this time select YTD Quantity Awarded and set it greater than 10, but let’s add another filter and select YTD Quantity Awarded again, this time we’ll select less than 100, so it’s between 10 and 100
- And hit apply, system will now use a combination of these filters to show us the RFQs matching this specific use case.
- You can come up with your own formula, one that best fits your use case and use the filters to help you find the high demand solicitations.
- And finally, to save this search in Loocey, click on Save Us and name it High Demand and save.
- This will create a new tab at the top called AIDC Items and save the search filters.
- The saved searches, also called Saved Views, are a great way to save your filters so when you come back tomorrow or in the future, all of your saved views will be easily accessible from the tabs at the top.
