How to Find Long-Term Contracts (LTCs) on DLA/DIBBS in Loocey

Overview

Most DLA solicitations are One-Time purchase solicitations. These RFQs are posted to act as a single order when awarded. However, some RFQs are listed to be a longer term and not a single purchase.

These contracts are known as LTCs (Long-Term Contracts) but in DLA, they are known as IDC which is short for Indefinite Delivery Contracts, which has the same meaning as the LTCs, long term contracts.

There is also AIDC, which stands for Automated Indefinite Delivery Contract. And generally, DLA will have AIDC RFQs posted as the type of the contract. In this tutorial, we’ll learn how to easily find AIDC RFQs with just a quick search.

Step by step

1. Most DLA solicitations are One-Time purchase solicitations. These RFQs are posted to act as a single order when awarded. However, some RFQs are listed to be a longer term and not a single purchase.
2. These contracts are known as LTCs (Long-Term Contracts) but in DLA, they are known as IDC which is short for Indefinite Delivery Contracts, which has the same meaning as the LTCs, long term contracts.
3. There is also AIDC, which stands for Automated Indefinite Delivery Contract. And generally, DLA will have AIDC RFQs posted as the type of the contract.
4. Simply go to DLA RFQs list, you’ll notice there is a Type column. This is where the type of the contract is specified and we’ll use this column to find AIDC RFQs.
5. Click on Filters, add a new filter
6. Choose the Type for the category and Equals for the condition and select AIDC from the drop down.
7. Hit apply and you will now see all open AIDC or Long-Term contracts posted by the DLA.
8. And that’s it, Loocey makes it super-simple to find these.
9. But let’s actually open one and confirm that these are indeed IDC contracts.
10. Click on DIBBS RFQ link, this will take you to DIBBS RFQ page for this posting, then download the PDF and open it.
11. Search for IDC, and we can confirm that it is indeed specified in Section A:
12. Note that when searching in the pdf, we only use IDC, and leave out the A (Automated) part as DLA doesn’t use AIDC term inside the solicitation.
13. And finally, to save this search in Loocey, click on Save Us and name it AIDC Items and save.
14. This will create a new tab at the top called AIDC Items and save the search filters.
15. The saved searches, also called Saved Views, are a great way to save your filters so when you come back tomorrow or in the future, all of your saved views will be easily accessible from the tabs at the top.
