Step by step

The walkthrough covered in the video, written out so you can follow along inside Loocey.

  1. It’s important to create relationships with manufacturers to get the best pricing for your DLA contracts, and sometimes the best relationships are formed with local manufacturers. Note, this search finds manufacturers and distributors already listed as approved sources in DLA DIBBS.
  2. Go to the DLA Approved Sources page. You will see the list of companies along with their details, and the Type column shows whether each is a manufacturer or a distributor.
  3. Click on Filters and add a new filter. You can filter by city, state, or zip code, the best way is to use a partial zip code.
  4. For example, to find companies in Los Angeles, add a filter group: set the column to Zip, the condition to Starts With, and the value to 90.
  5. Add another condition in the group, this time with 91 for the zip, and make sure the group condition type is Or, so it matches companies with zip codes starting with either 90 or 91.
  6. Hit Apply. The system filters and shows approved source companies with these zip codes.
  7. Click Save As New, name the view, for example, LA Companies, and save.
  8. Now that you have the list, you can contact these companies or even visit their facilities to build a more in-person relationship. You can create more views based on any columns that fit your needs.
